2016 Gandona Encosta

Tasting Notes: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Encosta is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 21 months in 60% new oak. This opaque purple wine exhibits notes of charcoal, graphite, blackberry and blueberry fruit, forest floor and spring flowers. The wine is rich and easy to smell, taste and consume, given the low acidity and silky tannins. A touch of asphalt/tar seems to emerge as the wine sits in the glass. Drink it over the next 12-15 years."  91 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Winemaker's Notes:  Gandona Estate sits on a sloping hillside high above the beauty of Napa Valley and Lake Hennessey.  Its vineyards were carved from the steep terrain and planted in small blocks, each with its own distinct personality.  Each block is harvested in individual batches, isolating flavor ariations and then blended to create the foundation for the rich, complex wines of Gandona Estate.
